The problem

You heard it. You understood it. A week later, it was gone.

Most apps teach words chosen for someone else. Real life keeps asking for the ones you met yesterday.

  1. 01

    Lists you never use

You memorise “the cat is on the table”. Nobody you talk to has ever said it.

  2. 02

    Words that fade in days

You look a word up, nod, and lose it by Friday. One lookup is not a memory.

  3. 03

    Mistakes nobody catches

A tutor cannot correct every sentence. The same slip comes back next week.

How it works

Talk as usual. Pausa does the rest.

No word lists to build. You keep having conversations; Pausa sorts, coaches and reminds.

01

Record the conversation.

Tap record in a lesson, a meeting or on a trip. Pausa keeps listening with the screen locked, for up to two hours.

  • Keeps recording with the screen locked
  • Understands two languages in one sentence
  • Reminds you to ask everyone first
Pausa’s recorder
02

Know what to say next time.

After the conversation, Pausa transcribes it, flags your mistakes and shows a more natural way to say the same thing.

  • Corrections linked to the moment in the recording
  • Words worth keeping, picked out for you
  • Ask Chat why, and get a plain answer
Coach · Try next timeYou said: Quiero que vienes mañana.“Quiero que vengas mañana.”Use the subjunctive after “quiero que” when someone else does the action. · 12:34
03

Remember it for good.

Your words come back in a few minutes of review a day, right before you would forget them.

  • Spaced repetition built around your words
  • Gaps, multiple choice and chat practice
  • A step-by-step course, A1 to C2, when you want structure

FAQ

Questions, answered.

The short version: try it for a week on your real conversations, and decide then.

Is Pausa for beginners or advanced learners?

Both. Courses start from your first words and go up to C2. The recorder pays off most once you have real conversations, lessons or meetings in the language.

Does it replace my tutor?

No. It makes every lesson count. Record the lesson, and Pausa keeps the words, corrections and explanations you would otherwise forget by the next one.

Is it okay to record other people?

Always ask first. Pausa reminds you to get everyone’s agreement before a recording starts.

Does it work offline?

Speech recognition can run on your iPhone after a one-time download. Coaching, word details and Chat need an internet connection.

What happens when the free trial ends?

If you do nothing, the plan you chose starts and is billed through your Apple ID. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends and you pay nothing.
